"" JAMIE SAYS DREAM: My Easter in Borås

My Easter in Borås

I had a great few days with my sister in Borås this Easter and arrived in Malmö again Sunday evening, so I have one more free day before this shorter work week begins.

In Borås we went on walks in the wood, in typical April weather - quickly changing from sun to rain to snow. There was even ice left on the little lake we passed. Borås is more north than Malmö, so spring has not come as far there...

...and we also said hello to some roosters and chicken...

...we made the Egg People I showed you in my last post (printed "outfits" and drawn faces) and ours turned out like this...

...we went to the Texile Museum and looked at clothes from all the decades of the 20th century. All of them were made in Borås, which is a textile city and was even more so in earlier centuries. I brought this fun poster home...

...we also looked at old textile machines and other things that were used in the textile factories in the 18th, 19th and 20th century....

...and reproductions of printed fabrics from the 18th century....

...as well as preserved fabrics and emroidered quilts from the 18th century (these old fabrics can't be exposed to much light = photos with yellow light).

Did you have a nice Easter as well? (if you celebrate Easter...)

As the last Easter associated image for this year I chose this hairy hare suit, made by sculpture, dancer and performance artist Nick Cave, for my Daily dose of quirkiness :-) At Soundsuitshop.com you can see more from Nick Cave's exhibitions and there's a blog and a shop.

Haha - I like that bunny-suit. Anyway, I fired the Easter bunny as he brought me NO Easter eggs - can you believe it? None!! And I do love chocolate so.
I really like the photo in the top left-hand corner (of the logs) - its is so textural - I want to draw and make a pattern of it!

Hello Maria,
it was funny and a rich experience weekend :).
Weather here was similar, sun, clouds, wind, rain and snow in one day. Suprisingly, big frost in some areas, too.
I wish you nice days. M

Kram Hanna
